Terms of use

Effective date: 15 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Yawn & Pawn (“the app”), an alarm clock for Android published on Google Play by the developer Yawn & Pawn (“we”, “us”). By using the app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

What the app does

The app is an alarm clock. To stop an alarm for free, you finish a check you chose, such as math problems or scanning a barcode. Instead, you can pay to snooze. Waking up is always free: snoozing is the only thing that ever costs money. There are no subscriptions, no ads and no paid features.

Snooze fees

Commitment lock

You can raise your fee or make your checks harder at any time, and the change applies at once. Within 8 hours before an alarm that is turned on, changes that make it easier (a lower fee, easier checks, a longer grace window or more snoozes) are saved but take effect only after that alarm. You can still turn off or delete an alarm at any time; the app asks you to confirm.

Payments go through Google Play

Each snooze is a one-time in-app purchase through Google Play. Google takes the payment under the Google Play terms and its own refund policy. The app shows the price before every payment, and you confirm each one. A snooze starts only after Google confirms the payment for the morning in progress.

Pending payments

Some payment methods take time to go through (“pending”). A pending payment only starts your snooze if it goes through before you finish your check that morning. Until then, the alarm keeps ringing, and you can finish the check to stop it. A pending payment that goes through later counts as an unused payment.

Unused payments

If a payment never gave you a snooze (for example, it went through after the morning ended, or the connection dropped), the app never completes it, and Google refunds it automatically after about three days. If you snooze again at the same price before that refund, the app may offer to use that earlier payment for the new snooze instead of charging you again. It does so only if you tap “Use it”.

Refunds

Google lets you request a refund yourself within 48 hours of a charge, from your Google Play order history. Google’s limits apply, and Google decides. The app can’t see refunds, so its purchase history shows what was charged; unused payments are shown as refunded automatically by Google. For any other question about a charge, contact us with the order ID: refunds are made through Google Play.

No guarantee that an alarm rings

We work hard to make the alarm reliable, but we can’t promise that it rings on every phone, every time. A phone maker’s battery saver, Do Not Disturb, a setting changed by you or by an update, a phone that is off or out of battery, or a fault can stop an alarm. Use the reliability checklist and the test alarm in the app to check your phone. Don’t rely on the app as your only alarm when missing it could cause harm.

The app is provided as it is, without warranties, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law where you live, such as consumer rights.

The alarm and your phone

Your alarm keeps ringing until you finish your check or pay to snooze. Your phone stays usable: calls, other apps and emergency calls all work. Other ways to stop it: force-stop or uninstall the app, turn off the phone, or leave it 30 minutes. A morning left for 30 minutes counts as missed.

Age

The app is for adults (18 and over). We recommend turning on purchase authentication in Google Play, so every snooze needs your fingerprint or password.

EU and UK right of withdrawal

Placeholder: the wording about the EU and UK right of withdrawal is still being reviewed. On EU accounts, Google Play shows its own “Review and agree” screen before each purchase.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we update this page and its effective date. Every change is visible in the app’s public source repository.
